A Nice Little Spring Day

Today was a warm, peaceful day with a little springtime magic.

I sat on my front porch with a sandwich for lunch. The windchimes were gently playing in the breeze, the fresh air filled my lungs, the sunshine felt warm, and I felt peaceful.

While I ate, I watched a robin hopping around the yard, pulling up big earthworms. What surprised me was how close he came—he didn’t seem bothered by me at all. He even turned his back to me several times, all of which felt very trusting for a robin. Maybe the worms were just too tasty for him to resist, or maybe he figured we were both just enjoying our lunch together.

I also spotted a cute chipmunk darting in and out of one of its little hidey-holes in the lawn.

A squirrel was digging nearby too, probably for previously stashed acorns. I didn’t catch a photo of today’s squirrel, but here’s one from a little while back—possibly the same regular visitor. They’re always busy digging or nibbling on something.

After lunch, I went for a nice walk. Right in the middle of the road, I noticed a tiny heart-shaped rock, just sitting there embedded in the pavement. I included my sneakers in the photo to show the scale.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I found a very similar one up the road on the edge of the sidewalk. I often find hearts in nature, which always warms my heart.

Back at the house, I noticed buds on the forsythia branches. The flowers will be here soon—bright yellow and cheerful. Spring is so refreshing and full of renewal.

Nothing fancy today, but it was a really lovely afternoon overall. I’m grateful for it. ‪‪❤︎‬‪‪❤︎‬‪‪❤︎‬
