Animals have always had my heart. When I paint an animal, I find myself falling in love with that particular soul as the painting unfolds. A lasting connection forms, often through the eyes. Even after the piece is finished, that bond remains. Whenever I look at the artwork, or even a photograph of it, I feel it stir again.
“Koala Daydream” has now found its perfect collector. When she first saw the painting, the eyes immediately drew her in. In that instant, she was carried back to a childhood memory of growing up in Australia. She recalled climbing a gum tree with her brother in their backyard and coming nearly face to face with a mother koala and her baby. She locked eyes with the young koala, seeing the very same expression that lives within this painting.
I could not be happier placing “Koala Daydream” in her care, knowing it will bring that special memory back to her each time she looks at it.
