Where Autumn Meets the Sea

Impressionist oil painting of a vibrant seascape with brilliant autumn foliage, a boardwalk leading to a lighthouse and cabin, and a sailboat anchored. Moody clouds fill the sky over turquoise waters.
Where Autumn Meets the Sea – 12″x16″ oil painting by Jackie Foster

Let this scene take you away. Imagine the brilliant autumn leaves rustling in the wind, the waves gently lapping the shore, and the delicious ocean air filling your lungs.

This painting brings together two of my favorite things: the brilliant colors of autumn and the lure of the ocean. I love the breathtaking foliage of New England and the feeling of being beside the sea. In this imagined scene, I can enjoy both at once.

Autumn is my favorite time of year. Even after a lifetime of New England falls, the colors take my breath away. I love being outside in the crisp air, listening to the leaves rustle and stopping to admire another beautiful tree.

The ocean draws me back in much the same way. I love that delicious ocean air and the sound of the waves. I’m always watching for birds and wondering what creatures might be beneath the surface. Being beside the water settles my thoughts and grounds my spirit.

As I look at this painting, I imagine spending an afternoon there, breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the sights, sounds, and feeling at peace.
